What is Diptheria, Polio and Tetanus?

Diptheria is a serious and highly infectious throat and upper airways illness caused by the diptheria bacterium. Tetanus is a life threatening infection caused by bacteria found in soil and the environment worldwide. Polio is a virus caused disease which is highly infectious. 

How does the vaccination work?

This vaccine contains inactivated virus and bacteria that trigger the body to produce immunity against the real disease. If an individual is up to date with their childhood vaccines, the vaccine can be given as a single dose before travel. Protection is immediate following vaccination.

Who should have the treatment?

If travelling to a country at risk of transmission of all three diseases especially on the sub-Saharan African, Asian, Central American and Caribbean continents.
